The Position
As a Cloud Engineer, you will be focusing on the development of the cloud platform for the fastest growing online video on demand service in Northern Europe - Viaplay. We have openings in our Streaming Experience team, so the opportunities are limitless.
You will be part of a mission-focused, autonomous team that focuses on making it super easy to work in the cloud, by building a service platform for the rest of the organization. Our platform is highly available, has low maintenance, is scalable and based on a microservice architecture. We are hosted in AWS and 100% cloud-native. The Journey Ahead
You will join a kick-ass Streaming Experience cross-functional team (client and backend development, QA, product management) and deliver engineering solutions aligned with technical and product long-term visions.
The team delivers on clear goals based on our customer journey and is fully autonomous in how to create the best solutions to reach the goals. In other words, if you are into working in an innovative way and done with just delivering on Jira tickets all day - we have an offer you can't refuse!
Some of your daily tasks will include:
• Automation for reproducibility and predictability.
• Apply CI/CD solutions for the organization.
• Innovate on upcoming technologies in collaboration with AWS.
• Knowledge sharing best practices in the cloud.
What we are looking for
We believe you are currently working as a Cloud Developer, DevOps Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer with relevant experience. You are a problem solver at heart with entusiasm for tech evangelism and quick to find solutions. You thrive in a team environment and by collaborating on solutions. To fit in this role, we believe it is important to be curious by nature and that you not only work with tech but also see it as a craftsmanship.
Successful candidates also meet the following requirements:
• Solid problem-solving skills in cloud environment.
• Experience from working with AWS in production.
• Programming experience in Python, NodeJS or Java.
• Solid interest in continuous integration and continuous deployment, automation and other efficient workflow-oriented practices.
• Understanding of microservice architecture.
• Infrastructure as code mindset.
• Great communication skills, with fluency in English.
Bonus qualifications:
• AWS certifications in a relevant field.
• Container management experience, like ECS or EKS.
• Cloud deployment and configuration management tools, e.g., AWS CloudFormation and Terraform.
