The transformation programme will significantly change the way we run late stage programmes.

The Clinical Workstream is a key part of the GMD Transformation (GMDT) initiative. It is a significant programme with several sub-teams and has touchpoints with all other components of the Transformation initiative (Advanced Analytics, Design & Planning, Knowledge Management, Data Foundation, Innovation, Culture etc). This role works in partnership with Clinical Product Owners, Project/Programme Managers in other workstreams as well as key roles in IT.

As an expert in the delivery of large complex projects/programmes in global scale the Clinical Programme Manager is accountable for all project management related tasks within the Clinical workstream to ensure robust coordination of activities both within the workstream and with other GMDT workstreams. The role reports into the GMD Transformation Clinical Lead as part of the GMD Transformation Office.

Focus areas include team management, stakeholder management, workstream/programme level planning and control.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate interdependencies between projects and workstreams (within the Clinical Workstream and across GMD Transformation)
Manage relationships with business and IT stakeholders to ensure the effective capturing of business requirements and commitment to project/program objectives.
Responsible for Clinical workstream meetings, communication of status, issues, risks to the PMO, managing of resource forecasts and operational budget
Together with Clinical Transformation Leader build a cohesive high-performing program team and provide the leadership necessary to maximize the team's success.
Coordination of change management activities
Ensure expected benefits realization is consistent with project deliverables and clearly understood by stakeholders and workstream members.
Drive effective risks & issues management, ensuring processes are in place and effectively used. Ensure problems are resolved and escalate as appropriate.
Oversee and drive the creation of plans for projects / programmes, including activities, resources, costs, roles, responsibilities and quality aligned with Project Management Methodology for GMD Transformation
Manage changes to project/programme scope, ensuring that all impacts and changes are approved and appropriately communicated to stakeholders and review boards.
Responsible for helping shape, steer and understand the strategy and delivery of related programmes (Advanced Analytics, Knowledge Management, Automation, etc.)
Ensure effective communication and, share success stories and learnings
Manage risks and issues within the Clinical programme and take mitigating actions: scope change, resources, timing, costs (etc) in agreement with GMD Transformation Office.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential

Technical or Business Degree or proven relevant experience
Proven skills and experience managing and controlling complex projects and activities in a multicultural context.
Experience managing and leading global project teams in a multicultural context
Evidence of shaping innovative solutions that have a major impact within the business area and organisation
Experience working in a global organization where stakeholders and project team members are geographically dispersed.
History of delivering value to organisations through change - working across time zones, cultures, and disciplines

Desirable

Master's degree
Project / Programme Management certifications

Skills and Capabilities

Strong knowledge of pharma late stage development
Strong Project and Programme Management Skills
Excellent communication and relationship management skills
Strong knowledge and experience with internal and external suppliers and solutions
Excellent business acumen with sensitivity to environment
A capable knowledge of Financial Management and Benefits Delivery practices.
Broad understanding of IT systems and technology implemented within a business context
