The Tenure Facility aims to: (1) scale up implementation of tenure reform policies and legislation; and (2) enable national governments and communities to test new models and strategies and approaches to implement law and policy. The Tenure Facility provides grants and technical assistance directly to Indigenous Peoples' and local communities' organizations to support their initiatives in Africa, Asia and Latin America and shares the knowledge, innovations and tools that emerge. Implementing tenure reform contributes to reducing conflict and furthers the achievement of global human rights, food security, sustainable natural resource management and other development goals. The Tenure Facility has secured multi-year funding and the secretariat is looking for a new Chief Operating Officer replacing an interim COO. See our website

Overview of the positionThe COO reports to the Executive Director (ED), and as part of the Senior Leadership of the TF, the COO will play an integral role in building the new organization and providing leadership to a growing team. The COO will lead all operations (HR, compliance, IT), financial administration, planning and budgeting for the TF in addition to providing inputs to strategic planning and organizational growth, linking with donors and other stakeholders. The COO is the deputy ED in the case of occasional absence of the ED. Overarching responsibilities Partner with the ED to establish TF as a highly credible and respected institution among international development institutionsProvide effective stewardship of the TF by being actively involved in all programs and services.Ensure that all program activities operate consistently and ethically within the mission and values of the TF and abide by donor requirements.Contribute to the development of the TF's strategic goals and objectives as well as the overall management of the organization.Serve as the management liaison to the board and audit committee; effectively communicate and present critical financial matters at select board of directors and committee meetings.Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the ED informed of all critical issues.· Ensure the continued financial viability of the TF through sound fiscal management and assist ED in fundraising strategy and in effective management of all donor relations· Contribute to a collaborative and resilient internal working culture for sustained progress on the Tenure Facility's strategic goals and objectives
