DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

An exciting legal position in the Nordics As our new Chief Legal Counsel you can look forward to an exciting career in an international and multi-cultural environment with a focus on professional and personal development.
You will be manager for our 4 Legal Counsels in the Nordic zone and thus responsible for the delivery of all legal services in the Nordics - excluding M&A, IP, and Insurance.
You will operate as a valued and integral member of the Global Legal Department and as a key business partner providing high quality legal support and advice to all of Schneider Electric's operations in the zone.
Key responsibilities and activities
You will work on a wide range of commercial matters to support our local commercial, industrial, R&D, and other entities (including factories and warehouses), many of which contain international elements.
This will include:
Compliance.
• Support the appointed Compliance Officer responsible for supporting investigations on ethical concerns and misconduct in the zone.
• Claims and Litigation, Oversight and Reporting.
Collaboration.
• Be the legal lead on Global Strategic Accounts originating from the zone.
• Provide primary legal support to the Data Privacy Officer for the zone.
• Support transversal activities with local implementation within the zone.
• Provide assistance to other members of the GLD as requested by the Legal Management.
Management.
• Lead a team of 4 Senior Legal Counsels in the Nordic-Baltic Zone (Norway, Finland, Denmark, and Sweden).
• Lead, direct, evaluate and develop the professional legal staff to ensure the organisation's legal activities are conducted accurately, ethically and per established guidelines.
• Engage in and support your team, coach your team members, and act as go-to person both in legal as well as personal matters.
• Develop and build your team, shape the culture, and live our core values.
Key Accountabilities
• Prepare and review tenders and contracts. Support customer negotiations.
• Prepare template agreements & T&Cs.
• Provide pre-litigation/claims support.
• Oversee litigation and represent the organisation in matters before courts, government agencies, or other authorities to protect the organisation's legal and business interests.
• Ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements and Group policies.
• Support local real estate matters and employment issues.
• Local implementation of business unit/Corporate functions decisions (including compliance programmes, training etc).
• Advise management on all legal matters, the potential impact of current and future laws and regulations.
• Evaluate the organisation's activities, policies, practices, and transactions to ensure they comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
• Manage external legal service providers and prepare materials to ensure the organisation's interests are well represented.
• Other local legal support as reasonably required by Legal Management.
Education and Experience
You have a Master/Bachelor of Laws degree or higher, and you are a fully qualified lawyer authorized to practice law in a Nordic country.
After your university degree as Master of Laws you have at least 7 years of experience from a law firm or an in-house environment - preferably in the Construction, Oil & Energy, or Renewables/Environment sector. You have also gained considerable knowledge of technology, software, and licensing.
You must have an in-depth understanding of how an in-house legal department operates, and you are able to identify and analyse critical business issues and apply legal expertise to deliver solutions.
You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and you are fluent in English. A good command of Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, or Finnish would be a definite advantage.

You will report to Chief Legal Counsel based in the Netherlands, and you will be based in Stockholm, Sweden.
Regular travel within Nordic-Baltic Zone is required. Occasional travel to other locations in Europe is expected as business need is determined. Travel may include some overnight stays.
