Responsibilities include:

Collaborate with the Head Chef and the owners to align kitchen operations with the overarching goals of the Roo & Elk.
Shift set up and monitoring efficient & effective kitchen operation, including food preparation, cooking & clean up.
Resolve customer issues as they arise in line with the Customer Service Policy & so they always receive their orders in a timely manner.
Make sure all kitchen & wait staff adhere to food safety & hygiene regulations.
Ensure front of house staff know of the daily specials and food/drink pairing.
Inspect raw and cooked food items to guarantee that the highest quality products are prepared & served to customers.
Manage quality and control of orders by sustaining the tasteful quality of our dishes.
Work with the Head Chef to check freshness & monitor food stocks.
Maintain kitchen equipment, follow Maintenance and Fault reporting policy.

We are looking for a full time and a part time/casual qualified, creative chef to work with us and our Head Chef to bring to life our vision of creating a destination where guests can have an authentic Australian experience that is renowned throughout Scandinavia.

Playing a key role in the kitchen team, working closely with the Head Chef and owners to create menus that represent Australian pub cuisine with an innovative flare and a nod to Swedish culinary traditions. You will be responsible for managing quality control, preparing meals in a timely manner and ensuring health and safety regulations are followed on shift.

MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO WORK IN SWEDEN

Qualities:

A team player with a sense of adventure
Lover of Aussie food from Vegemite to Kangaroo!
Able to stay calm in a crisis
Creative with attention to the details
Up-to-date with Australian and international culinary trends
You speak fluent English, big plus if it is of the Aussie persuasion and if you can speak Swedish that's a bonus!

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years' experience as a chef
Outstanding communication skills
Proven ability to work as a constructive member of a team
Good understanding of useful computer programs (Email, MS Word and MS Excel)
Willing to be an active part of the brand including social media and advertising

Qualifications:

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery/Restaurang- och livsmedelsprogrammet or equivalent
Credentials in health and safety
STAD Ansvarsfull Alkoholservering or willingness to attain (at a minimum, good knowledge of Swedish Responsible Service of Alcohol laws)

Our dishes, created from local and Australian products will showcase our diverse culinary traditions, complemented by the finest Australian wine and beer. There'll even be some tasty non-alcoholic Australian alternatives!
