We collaborate through an agile and cross-functional setup including the departments Research & Development (R&D), Production, Sales & Marketing and Purchasing to develop the charging system and power distribution on our Battery Electrical Vehicles (BEV). You belong to the R&D organization and be apart of the testing and compliance team. Your task will be to lead the compliance and test coordination related to standard regulation UNECE-R100. This is an electrical safety regulation for road vehicles.
Who we are
The VCB Workshop within Scanias Charging and Power Distribution development department is running both prototyping, functional, verification and compliance tests on both component and complete vehicle level. The group has two teams the Prototyping Team and Testing & Compliance Team. The group consists of both engineers and mechanics, together we the group members possess deep knowledge in mechanical prototyping, vehicle electronics high / low voltage, software systems and charging components. We make sure that the charging system and services we develop not only have the right performance and functionality but also comply with current safety and security legislation and are of the highest quality.
Your tasks
As we are now expanding the testing & compliance team, you will be part of developing not only the future product but also methodologies and standards going forward and making sure our products comply with current and future regulations and standards, such as UN ECE-R100.
In your role as Electrification engineer within test & compliance, you will work together with the entire group and in close collaboration
with responsible designers. You will carry out both functional & performance tests on complete vehicles but also plan, execute and act as the expert engineer to external institutes I.e. IDIADA and authorities in regards to electrification compliance testing.
You will be involved in driving the ECE-R100 compliance & test coordination including planning, preparation, problem identification, verification and certification.
You will be given the opportunity to create many contacts both within the company but also towards external partners, companies and institutes.
Your profile
We are looking for you who wants to be part of the electrification transformation and have engagement and commitment to carry out and develop our future products. You have the willingness to make a change and to get things done in a structured way. You are a creative and hands-on problem solver who sees the opportunities to develop something new. You get energized by working closely with different competences in cross-functional teams where you act as competence in the field of high voltage electrification. It is easy for you to take the initiative in social situations and you find it easy to form new relationships in an international environment.
You have a bachelor and/or master degree within engineering and is fluent in English. Previous experience within automotive industry is meriting. B-license is required and there is a possibility to get a C-license internally at Scania.
