Role Summary
Are you passionate about ensuring compliance and delivering excellence in vehicle certification? Join us at Scania as a Certification Engineer and play a vital role in shaping the future of sustainable transport solutions.
As a Certification Engineer specializing in Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA), you will ensure that our vehicles meet regulatory requirements, enabling their registration and sale. With a diverse product portfolio of both electrified and conventional vehicles, WVTA is central to our success and directly linked to the milestones of the product development process.
Job responsibilities
• Keeping WVTA certificates updated with the latest product introductions.
• Ensuring alignment between approved regulated areas (e.g., brakes, steering, emissions) and WVTA certificates.
• Managing and maintaining typical Type Approval data, such as dimensions, engine specifications, and vehicle configurations.
• Documenting and describing vehicle types and their approved combinations.
• Overseeing vehicle inspections in collaboration with third-party inspectors (Technical Services).
• Managing vehicle individual registration data (Certificate of Conformity).
• Collaborating cross-functionally with System Support groups to secure accurate system support for Type Approval and registration documents.

We are looking for candidates with:
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical or vehicle engineering (required).
• Work Experience in product development, preferably within the automotive industry.
• A solid understanding of the product development process, ideally within R&D at Scania (highly meritorious).
• Experience with Type Approval and certification processes.
• Knowledge of National Type Approval and vehicle registration systems.
• Fluency in English (required); knowledge of Swedish is beneficial.
