The Engine & Control System propulsion team is responsible for direct material to both Volvo Cars Engine Plants and Vehicle Plants. We purchase material to advanced projects, new projects and running production for all Volvos manufacturing plants. If you are the right person for this job, you will realise that this is an opportunity for you to play a key role for the company's performance. What you'll do
Cooperate with external as well as internal contacts on global level, represent Volvo and Purchasing towards the supply base and participate in cross-functional teams with Engineering, Quality and Cost Engineering. You will be part of a Category Team and be responsible for deliveries in accordance with procurement priorities, targets and business plans. You will lead negotiations of all kind, act on design changes within projects, secure correct bought capacity, establish action plans on part-specific supplier issues in running business. Work towards short and long term targets.
Do you fit the profile?
To succeed in this role, you have a big interest in purchasing and good communication skills.
1-2 years of experience within purchasing or other jobs with a large proportion of customer and supplier contacts as well as negotiation. You are proficient in English, both spoken and written. You have the ability to see the whole picture of a business case. Supplier relations are important, where your communication skills, is a great ability. You have a commercial or technical university degree and relevant working experience (Procurement, Sales & Engineering).
To be successful in this role you are solution oriented individual, with open mind-set and adoptable to changes. You have an internal drive that motivates you in your daily work. People see you as accountable and someone who takes the ownership. You like working in a global organization with various stakeholders.
