Business Project Manager - Volvo Autonomous Solutions

Ready to shape tomorrow's society together with us?
Volvo Autonomous Solutions (V.A.S) is a new entity within the Volvo Group with the mission to offer transport and material handling solutions never seen before. Together we will work on autonomous solutions that will defy conventions and take us to the future. With entirely new business models and advanced technology, we will meet and exceed expectations from customers and contribute to a society that we want to live in. We have office locations in Sweden and in the US.

This is us, your new colleagues
Our team is small but made up of passionate and driven individuals who collaborate in a way that makes the group stronger than the sum of its parts. We not only support and advise the business functions and the Executive Team in key strategic initiatives, but we also drive the transformation of V.A.S. from Start Up to Scale Up.
In this role you will contribute to an important part of our journey and, by working closely to the Executive Management Team, have an impact in transforming Transport Industry and building a more sustainable society.
We are located in Gothenburg, Sweden, in the innovation center of the Volvo Group - CampX. As such, our environment is open, modern and gives immediate access to innovative partners and colleagues.

This is how you could make an impact
The Business Project Manager is responsible to further develop the Public Funding capability within V.A.S. and drive key strategic initiatives. Your responsibilities are to scan and map public funding portfolios and related ecosystems in the European Union (with focus on Swedish initiatives); assess and map potential partnerships in the public funding ecosystem and develop and maintain a pipeline of potential public funded initiatives for V.A.S.
You will advise Technology and Business teams in the application process for public funding projects and facilitate the application process. You will coordinate the V.A.S. Public Funding Steering Committee, including but not limited to: setting the agenda; managing the pipeline of opportunities; and reporting the status of ongoing public funding projects. You will represent V.A.S. and actively participate in the Volvo Group's public funding internal networks and activities.

You will also be responsible to:
Manage the relationship between V.A.S. and research institutes (including universities), Public Funding authorities, and other Volvo Group companies.
Connect and interact with Regulatory Affairs and Public Funding committees within the Volvo Group.
Actively contribute to the communication team by advising on public funding communication.
Drive selected strategic projects through their whole life cycle from the business case definition, to planning of activities, follow-up and securing execution.
Prepare market analysis, assess potential partners, and evaluate competitors.

While your responsibilities will be well defined and scoped, we are also operating as a Start Up within a well-established large global organization. Your responsibilities may vary depending on the project or organization with which you are working. You will report to and work closely with the Head of Strategy, Marketing and Communication.
As we are a start-up inside the Volvo Group, we desire that you are creative and have a hands-on, "roll up your sleeves" mindset that will help us build our company. As such, you have demonstrated professionalism in working with all employee levels and organization types. You have the ability to think proactively and strategically on behalf of the executive team.

Vision, energy, enthusiasm, and focus are required, but also contextual sensitivity and the ability to work effectively across a broad spectrum of people. This requires you to inspire trust and confidence in your colleagues and management.

Who we believe you are
This role demands a strong sense of political "touch" and business acumen. The ability to work with a very diverse set of organizations and people. Discretion and a high level of integrity to handle confidential information inside and outside of the organization is required.

To be able to thrive in this position, we believe you have experience interacting with both public local and international organizations (for example Vinnova), local Government agencies, and/or European Union organizations. Work experience with the US state and federal authorities is considered an asset.

You have worked with multiple leaders on a senior level before and have several years of experience in a complex and changing environment. You are well structured with a strong drive, known for your high integrity and credibility and your capacity to listen and create strong relationships cross-functionally. You take responsibility for your own learning and continuous improvements.

You should hold a postsecondary degree, preferably technology or business management. Experience in one of the top consulting firms is considered an asset.

We operate in a truly global context and require fluency in English. Knowledge of Swedish is also required due to the interactions with the Swedish Public funding authorities. Other European languages is a plus.

Are we the perfect match?
Even if you feel you do not tick all the boxes, but are intrigued, we would like to hear from you!

We can promise you great colleagues and some truly exciting opportunities. You will work in a global environment that provides you with developmental prospects both professionally and personally. We at Volvo Autonomous Solutions want you to prosper and be happy. If our entrepreneurial spirit, adaptability, accountability, and an innovative and customer-focused mindset light your inner fire, you might be the next player in our great team!
