Electronic Defence Systems, a business area of Saab, is one of the world’s premier suppliers of solutions for surveillance, avionics and systems to detect, locate and protect against threat.
For increased flight mission efficiency and flight safety, we supply avionics for both civil and military customers. The business area has approx. 2,500 employees, of which around 2,000 work in Sweden. You will be a member of the management team at the business area and responsible for the BA Controller unit including approx. 50 persons.
Your future challenge
Key responsibilities for the Business Area Controller will be to, with the business in focus, support the Business Area SVP in implementing the business strategy from a finance perspective as well as focusing on the performance of the operations, which is mainly executed in projects.
Your responsibilities include the development, implementation and continuous improvement of comprehensive finance and administration procedures and ways of working in accordance with legal requirements and overall Saab Group finance controlling, finance planning & analysis and the reporting to the Group HQ. You will also be actively involved in the business from offerings to execution and delivery.
Specific tasks include:
• Monitor and control business performance from a financial perspective and report to the BA SVP and the Group CFO.
• Monitor and control the achievement of key financial targets on business area level.
• Initiate actions to improve financial performance in order to close gap to reach targets.
• Oversee all company accounting practices, including accounting, preparing budgets, financial reports and audit functions.
• Supervise investment and customer proposals.
• Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts.
Today's demands
We are looking for a Business Area Controller with strong analytical, operational and communication skills. We are looking for a graduate from a Business School/University with several years of experience from a similar position. Through your working experience you have a successful background as a manager including personnel responsibility with proven leadership skills, and using English as a working language is not a problem. It is preferable that you have your experience from different private businesses.
To be successful in this position it is important to be business driven, independent and to have an analytic and pedagogical ability to understand and explain economic causation. We are looking for an analytical doer with a commercial mindset. As a person you are also communicative and a good educationalist who enjoys coaching and developing team members and colleagues. You work in a systematic manner and towards the set targets, and your ability to change when needed is high.
