Business Analyst for Scania Parts Logistics

Commercial Operations has the global responsibility for the strategies, operations and control of the Scania-owned sales and services companies and business units.
Commercial Operations provides support to the Scania-owned as well as to the independent franchise network through its support functions and support companies.

Scania Parts Logistics (SL) is responsible for the distribution of spare parts from suppliers to customers at 1,600 service points globally. We operate through different sites globally: Opglabbeek (Belgium), Södertälje (Sweden), São Paulo (Brazil) and Singapore, together with 7 regional warehouses in Europe.

As a Business Analyst you are a driving force when Scania is improving our customers' uptime as IT systems serve as a key enabler in developing more efficient logistical processes for spare parts. You identify, suggest improvement areas and have a central role in future implementation projects as well as continuous development.

Work description

You are responsible for identifying and analysing the business needs and translate them to requirement on IT solutions. You will do that by structured analysis of business processes, information flows and functional requirements. In addition, you are also expected to develop the business by identifying possibilities that (new) technology may give.

As a key player between business and IT, you will analyse and evaluate technical solution proposals and acts as a controller of IT by challenging the business case, how we use the functionality available and how deliveries correspond to what we order. You will also be the business' spokesperson when it comes to steering and controlling the IT road map for your area of responsibility.

You will be working closely with the global organisations within Scania Parts Logistics, Sales and Services companies, our organisation for Services business development as well as our IT Provider. As a Business Analyst, you will also be a key player in our transformation projects. Travelling is to be expected - the current road map includes several projects in Asia.

Your profile

This is a new position so you should feel comfortable in a situation with few structures and established ways of working - your are expected to create and maintain such structures. Working in the area between business and IT requires that you understand and can handle both perspectives. We are in a process of replacing own developed systems with COTS products on different levels in our business. It is meriting if you have a background as a functional/business analyst for ERP systems in general and Axapta specifically. You probably have experience from service processes and/or logistics and you demonstrate a genuine interest in how IT can make our business more efficient.

You are customer oriented, an expert in identifying and understanding problems and opportunities. You can see what is needed to solve the problem or to realize the opportunity. In order to gather business requirements and explaining solutions you need to be good at facilitating and communicating.
