The Role...

The Challenge

We are looking for a highly intelligent individual with a good mathematics, statistics or computer science degree from a leading university, and the proven ability to apply those skills practically - generating business value. Successful candidates may be sophisticated statisticians (perhaps with limited software development skills) or have good software engineering skills (and less depth of statistical knowledge), or perhaps combine both sets of skills. We expect candidates to have good coverage of many of the following areas, and to have demonstrated the ability to quickly pick up more when needed:

We think that you have?

• Experience of dealing with large, real-world datasets (SQL)
• In depth statistical, machine learning, Bayesian knowledge
• Hands on experience with data mining, clustering, segmentation
• Software engineering skills, in languages such as Java, R, Python, etc.
• ?Big data? systems experience (Hadoop, Hive, MapReduce, etc)
• Robust statistical significance testing, A/B testing, predictive analytics
• Advanced use of Excel spreadsheets for analytical purposes

The role is as part of the Business Intelligence and Analytics team, looking to further understand, model, predict, segment and monetise King.com customers, and help take King.com?s data capabilities to the next level. We are interested in all levels of experience ? salary commensurate to ability and experience.

• it would also be a pure bonus if you have:

• Experience from working at a small-but-growing IT company.
• A working knowledge on key metrics related to user behavior, user segmentation, and virality
• Played any of our games already.
