The International Section at Kungsholmen's Gymnasium is Sweden's oldest and largest English lanuage Upper Secondary school. With approximately 500 students, the International Section offers the IB Diploma Program, a Natural Science Program and a Social Science program.
1 plats(er).-To lead and be responsible for a school unit and to co-operate with the other principals with a perspective for the entire school
• To create the preconditions for quality improvement and the achievement of goals by the students in the school unit
• To lead, develop and follow up pedagogical activity in the unit with focus on teaching
• To be the direct manager of the pedagogical staff of the school unit
• To be financially responsible for the school unit
• To co-operate with the various vested interests in the school unit such as parents, the business community and universities
• To carry out systematic efforts to develop the work environment both in the school unit and together with the other principals for the school as a whole
• To promote a trusting and positive working climate in the school unit and the entire school
• To work in a process-oriented manner with continuous dialogue
• To market the school unit and the school as well as be a good ambassador for the City of Stockholm
General requirements:
• University education
• Experience from working as a school leader at Upper Secondary Level
• Knowledge of the aims and programs of Swedish Upper Secondary schools
• An ability to organize and create structures for a work organization which furthers learning
• Knowledge of process-oriented development efforts based on research and proven experience
• Knowledge of research in the areas didactics and pedagogies
• Co-operative skills
• Very good communicative skills, including computer pedagogical competency and excellent English
Löneform: Månadslön.
Anställningsform: Tillsvidare.
Erfarenhet: Erfarenhet krävs. The applicant must:
• Have the leadership skills to meet the expectations of, inspire and at the same time further the development of students and staff with various educational and cultural backgrounds, in an international environment
• Have native language proficiency in English, as well as a fluency in Swedish
• Have significant experience with leading both the IB program and the Swedish programs
• Be very familiar with both the Swedish and foreign education and exam systems.
