The results, together with habitat classifications and statistical analysis, are then presented in reports, charts and GIS. These reports commonly form an essential part of our clients' EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) documentation.
THE ROLE INCLUDE:
• To collect, process, and present data from environmental surveys.
• The biologist will work in a team together with the environmental department, working with grab sample sorting and as a support in the species identification and analysis of epifauna from photo and video.
• Field work might be included in your role onboard our vessels.
• The biologist will evaluate and integrate results from other disciplines e.g. geophysics, hydrography, and chemistry under supervision of the Senior biologists.
• The senior biologists will act as support for the biologist but the biologist is expected to be self-propelled within the basic and re-occuring tasks within the Env. Dpt.
• The role requires extensive knowledge in the Office package.
• Degree qualified to BSc level or equivalent in marine biology, marine ecology or similar.
• The candidate must show excellent knowledge in English, both written and spoken, as this is our main language at the company.
• The candidate must have experience in species identification of marine benthic invertebrates from the North East Atlantic.
• The candidate must have experience from treatment of environmental data in statistical models.
• Due to the nature of the role, you will be expected to be self-motivated, flexible with your time and standard duties.
MMT specialises in the European hydrography and renewable energy and marine cable sectors. The Environmental department is working with mapping services for the offshore industry as well as governmental activities. At the environmental department, we work together the bathy- and geo department with integrated geophysical and geotechnical packages, as well as ROV and AUV services for site surveys, route surveys and pipeline inspections.
