About Us
AirZyme is a climate/biotech startup dedicated to leveraging biological mechanisms for combating global warming. Our small yet highly specialized team of scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs is passionately developing carbon removal solutions to address the world's climate challenges.
As a key member of our enzyme engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in using and advancing computational methods to engineer highly effective and stable enzymes. Your contributions will be crucial in our enzyme discovery processes, optimizing biochemical pathways, and integrating experimental data, with a strong emphasis on biotech applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Employ and enhance computational techniques for enzyme optimization, with a strong focus on biotech and biology applications.
Work closely with a small team, including collaborating with experts in machine learning, to tackle complex enzyme engineering challenges.
Provide experimental insights and wet lab biology experience to inform computational strategies.
Contribute to a collaborative atmosphere, sharing knowledge and ideas within our tight-knit team.
Who We Seek
We are looking for an experienced structural biologist or bioinformatician who combines expertise in computational methods with a strong foundation in biotech and biology. You should have:
Proficiency in tools like GROMACS, Rosetta, or equivalent.
Hands-on experimental and wet lab biology experience.
Proven ability to work effectively in small, collaborative teams.
A well-established network within the biotech community, fostering collaboration and innovation.
While a PhD is beneficial, practical experience and a collaborative spirit are paramount.
