The electrification trend within the automotive business is moving rapidly. For P&L this means that we need to prepare for ramping up production of electrical vehicles and help Scania become more sustainable. One major component in an electrical vehicle is the battery. Therefore we are investing in production lines for battery production.
For us within the Battery Production Unit it is important to secure a product introduction according to Scania's principles and core values. In order to do so we are currently installing a pre series line for the next generation of batteries and in parallel building the full capacity production lines as a next phase. Next generation batteries are developed in close collaboration with R&D designers and since it is a new developing product we need to work in a process where we can verify both product and process changes before we introduce it in production. We strongly believe that key factors for success in this area is through a tight partnership with both production and R&D designers, in combination with utilization of digital tools. Therefore we are now looking for a product development engineer to develop together with us in our journey of digitalisation.
Vacant position
Product development engineer for Preparation of battery products.
We are looking for one product engineer to be part of our product development team. The work is set up in close collaboration with the product development coordinator and the role plays an important part in the development of new products.
Together with the team you will define a best practice for introduction of battery packs, performing Digital Test Assemblies, creating digital training for operators and also supporting R&D in how they can design a product that can be industrialized in an effective manner, at right quality and cost. In cooperation with other team members it will be important to understand how product and process demands interact and how this needs to be addressed within Battery Production Projects.
Openness, helpfulness, flexibility, and interpersonal skills are highly valued.
Scania Technician, Bachelor or Master of Science degree and 2-3 years of experience from Product engineering or similar work experience is a base demand. Knowledge of Scania production's preparation process and its tools/systems are essential as well as a good standard of spoken and written English.
DfA/DfM, DTA, Catia, SES, and knowledge about other common processes within product introduction is a merit.
You will achieve
a wide connection network within P&L, R&D as well as within several other functions at Scania. You will work with several other units as well as outside parties and be asked to present material for management teams on all levels of the company. Furthermore you will be part of a new team exploring a new field within Scania production and logistics.
