The Application Specialist provides the integration expertise in order to write functional specifications, configure the global systems and actively support the local system integration and ensure requirements are complete. Maintaining continuous integrity of application configuration and system documentation in line with the process design whilst proactively suggesting application usability improvements are critical success factors to ensuring highest possible business operational excellence.
Your responsibilities
Build experience and competence in the usage of IS platform/application capabilities and features to be able to act as a leading application expert.
Write functional specification in close collaboration with Business Analysts, Application Manager, and Domain team and as required support in gathering and documenting requirements.
Maintain system configuration documentation such as user guidelines following change releases.
Build and maintain integration approaches between functional modules of the platform in close collaboration with other Application Specialists (integration design, documentation, information/data flow).
In support of stakeholders and the global Process/Application Owners work closely with Global Application teams (specialists, analysts, and Service managers) of other applications to ensure integrations can be developed and maintained with the highest stability to avoid functional/data integration issues with downstream and upstream applications.
Ensure complete and full functional requirements documentation and review/approve the technical design and solution via integration testing.
Communicate system functional capability best practices.
Actively participate in collaboration & sharing of knowledge across the network of Business Analysts and Application Specialists.
Proactively monitor function & feature usage effectiveness and work with continuous improvement of application usability.
Your background
To succeed in this role, you have proven process understanding within functional area.
Integration to SAP and non-SAP systems
You have knowledge and skills in MS SQL, SAP, MuleSoft, xml and Biztalk
Ability to promote a team environment
With your strong communicative and collaborative skills, you build trust for long term business relationships and contribute to a great team spirit
Your result focus and execution are a natural part of your personality
Proficiency in English, both spoken and written is required
Understating ITIL principles is recommended
