The Arena
The functional department - Laboratory Animal Sciences (LAS) delivers internal in vivo studies, breeding of transgenic mouse strains, daily animal care welfare.
In the role of Animal Technician, you will
• Be responsible for the care and welfare of laboratory animals and routine facility operations tasks and the delivery of high quality laboratory animals for scientific experimentation
• Work as part of a team and capable of working flexibly across different areas
• Participate in provision of weekend and out of hours support
• Ensure that work is performed in accordance with appropriate Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), quality and compliance standards, e.g. Good Laboratory Standard (GLS)
The role
• Animal technology qualification or University degree in a scientific field, or relevant experience;
• Experience in working with laboratory rodents and strong interest in animal care and welfare;
• Ability to perform work independently and consistently to the required standard on a consistent basis;
• Understand principles and concepts associated with Laboratory Animal Science particularly on animal welfare and the 3Rs;
• Strong communication skills with fluency in English/Swedish;

Preferred Requirements
• Knowledge and experience with the breeding of laboratory rodents;
• Work experience in AAALAC-accredited animal facilities;
• Previous experience working in the pharmaceutical Industry;
• Membership in relevant professional body;
