Are you passionate about the IES ethos and believe that every child can exceed their potential, no matter what the circumstances? We are looking for an experienced middle school teacher, familiar with LGR11, who has a passion for developing education and is ready to take on a leadership position. You have experience of working in an international environment as well as a thorough knowledge of the Swedish educational system. It is important that you are comfortable working in both the English and Swedish languages. The Academic Manager will have a vital role in establishing and implementing the high academic standards expected within IES. The position requires a strategic mindset and a hands on approach. It will involve daily contact with teachers, staff, students and parents. As well as being an educational guru, you should have a strong desire to be part of the journey of developing our school.
The role will be full-time with probation starting in August 2021.
Key areas of responsibility
The Academic Manager is part of the school's leadership team and works closely with the Principal, Assistant Principals, Heads of Department and teachers to develop teaching and learning at IES Liljeholmen. How do we continue to improve the quality of teaching? How do we support students in fulfilling their potential? How do we monitor students' progress? These are a few of the many questions that you will work with as part of our systematic quality work. You should believe in the central pillars of what we at IES offer to students:

• A safe and orderly environment, where teachers can teach and students learn.
• High academic expectations.
