The Nasdaq Internship Program provides successful candidates with a unique opportunity to experience a challenging and immersive 10-week internship. As participants of our Internship Program, you will deliver real, impactful work within a business unit. You will get a chance to work on a project along with a mentor, network with senior colleagues, and present your project towards the end of the program. You will also participate in learning and development sessions with diverse topics to help you grow and succeed as you establish your career.
Our Team
We have a deep history as innovators and are at the cutting edge of technology and capital markets. Nasdaq Market Technology represents one of four business units within Nasdaq, having the broadest footprint geographically. The Market Infrastructure Operator (MIO) and New Markets Group sits within the business, serving over 130 market venues (exchanges, clearing houses, securities depositories and regulators) and a range of innovative and disruptive non-financial sector marketplaces, spanning real-estate, advertising and sports betting to name a few.
We also offer marketplace related Advisory Services globally. We are at an exciting phase of development - nurturing our mature business whilst looking to strategically extend our core through both organic means and inorganic ventures.
Your Role
As an intern within our group you will have an exciting opportunity to shape and impact the execution of our 5 year strategy, particularly in the initial phase. Roles and activities are likely to include:
Research and identification of relevant industry players and shortlist of targets for Partnerships or M&A.
Business case development for organic/inorganic initiatives.
Support the evaluation of strategic and financial rationale for a potential agreement/transaction (investment case).
Interact with global business development, product management and sales to test validity of assumptions and work with team around go to market plans.
Potential to support an ongoing or new Advisory Services project.
The Ideal Candidate
Is working on completing a degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Information Technology (graduating by 2022)
Has business/commerce qualification (or working towards qualification) and/or strong interest in corporate strategy and potentially deal structuring
Has qualification or good general knowledge of IT and technology (including new technologies), whilst also having a business-minded approach
Has interest in Fintech
Has good communication and collaboration skills
Is enthusiastic and keen to build a network within the Nasdaq group
Potential Projects
Inorganic growth initiative: identify, shortlist and screening of potential partnership or acquisition candidates
SaaS Transition: working across functional teams to support transition strategy of our Tier 2 and Tier 3 customer base
Business and investment case formulation: for selective organic and inorganic initiatives
Advisory Services Project: work with the Nasdaq management consulting team on a market infrastructure project (i.e. for a top securities exchange or CCP).
Advisory Services Project: work with the Nasdaq management consulting team on a New Market advisory and design study.
