Scania has, together with Cummins Inc, a Joint Venture to manufacture XPI injection systems. The JV consists of Machining, Assembly & Test. The operations are located in Columbus IN USA, Juárez Mexico and Södertälje Sweden. There is also a global Fuel System Engineering with the center in Columbus IN USA to develop and support the products.

A new team is being started to support XPI high pressure common rail component development in Södertälje. The team will be responsible for the design, development and verification of common rail injectors and pumps for the engine fuel system and will work in close cooperation with XPI Engineering in the USA and with the fuel system teams at Scania Södertälje. For this reason we are looking for several new team members who are interested in developing future fuel injectors and pumps and build the team, to be based in Södertälje.

Your work assignments
As an injector development engineer you will be responsible for the development of XPI injectors at the pre-development phase through the introduction phase and current product support. You will work in close cooperation with the development team in the USA.

Your working area consists of:

Requirement specifications and coordination of supplier assignments
Balancing of fuel injector requirements to meet project objectives
Planning and analysis of component testing in rigs, engines and vehicles
Represent the team in the different cross functional work groups within Fuel Systems Engineering
Responsibility for the team's deliverables in engine application projects

You will also be active in establishing and continually improving the team's working methods and processes.

Your profile
We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering with a genuine interest in fuel system technology. The ideal candidate would have experience of common rail fuel injector development, and would be capable of coaching engineers with less experience. Since we conduct much of the development in an international environment, excellent English communication skills are required.
