Based in the Communications Unit of the Global Water Partnership global secretariat in Stockholm, the incumbent is expected to have strong writing skills and experience working with media, and to bring strategic thinking to GWP?s outreach.

Working in close collaboration with all staff in the secretariat and in the regions, interpersonal and intercultural communication skills are essential.

The Communications Unit at the global secretariat is responsible for increasing the visibility of GWP?s work on water resources management through a wide range of communication tools. In addition, the Unit ensures that the Network?s knowledge is shared within the partnership and among key audiences.

SCOPE OF POSITION

The position serves the GWP network by strengthening the media and communications work of the organization; and
the GWP Global Secretariat by planning, writing/editing, and disseminating information and stories through multiple channels to reach the media and other key audiences.

The position encompasses the following main duties:

Develop, implement, and regularly refine a GWP media and outreach strategy.

Lead writer and editor for NewsFlow (GWP?s monthly e-newsletter), press releases, annual report submissions, and other GWP communications material.

Contribute to and support the implementation of the GWP communications strategy, including capacity-building in the network.
