hela Sverige Visa alla jobb hos Sharkmob AB i Malmö We are looking for a Writer to help us to craft emotional, relatable stories for our unannounced project: an open world, online, action-packed experience based on our own IP. You will be a part of our Narrative team, working collaboratively with many other disciplines to realize the project's vision.
You are a storyteller at heart but also embrace the idea of "player driven stories," where the players are the stars of a dynamic narrative that unfolds over time. You thrive in a collaborative working environment and recognize that it is our combined creative work that has to shine, made possible by individual contributions both big and small.
This is an on-site position at the Sharkmob's Malmö studio in Sweden.
Responsibilities
Champion the Narrative vision
• Ownership of "words and tone": you are a key stakeholder to build and maintain a consistent tone-of-voice across the game.
• Crafting engaging, memorable characters with believable motivations.
• Creating compelling stories on all narrative levels.
Craft in-game content
• Collect requests for text to write, coming from your peers in the Narrative team
• Deliver writing content for player-facing elements: dialogue, descriptions, UI texts etc.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
• Working alongside cross-functional teams & departments to fully realise the collective, creative vision for the project.
• Review, correct, and provide feedback on content written by freelancers or outsourcing
Requirements
• Professional writing experience, preferably game related content
• Editorial experience: ability to review and edit pieces of text to fit a vision
• Mastery of the English language
• Understanding of different modes of storytelling (genres, conventions, motifs) and dialogue structures
• Solid collaboration and communication skills
• Stakeholder management skills
Bonus points
• American English native speaker
• A proven track record of writing game related content
• Experience in writing player-facing content, UI writing
Sharkmob was founded in 2017 and has offices in Malmö, Sweden, and London, UK. The studio develops AAA quality games for PC and console, using the Unreal Engine to power its ambitions of taking multiplayer games to new heights. Sharkmob is currently working on three major projects: Bloodhunt - a battle royale set in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe; and two proprietary, unannounced projects.
