hela Sverige TRATON Financial Services' internal audit department is looking for a data scientist to help us to build algorithms with results visualized through dashboards that ultimately enable us to find errors, broken processes, or fraud.
We are transitioning the way we work with audits to a data-driven way. This means that we will use data from systems worldwide, build algorithms that highlight potential issues in processes, and display the output in PowerBI dashboards. As a result, our auditors can be more efficient by looking at only the most relevant transactions in the most relevant places.
This is a journey and we will build the analytics step by step. You will be the key driver in prioritizing, acquiring knowledge about source systems, making sure data gets ingested, and building the algorithms and dashboards. You need programming skills and be able to build dashboards in PowerBI. Because the data we need is often fragmented in various legacy systems worldwide, you will need to be both structured and stubborn.
Internal audit is the last (third) line of defense. We often look for things that others may have missed, the proverbial needle in the haystack. To do this curiosity is key and the drive to find the information you need. You need to be able to think several moves ahead because we need to focus on what is valuable and achievable. And to know what is valuable it helps if you enjoy learning the details of financing commercial vehicles.
Responsibilities as Data Scientist:
• Together with the internal auditors define promising areas and checks that can be done better using data
• Find people who can share information about data, systems, and our business in general
• Prioritize ideas to arrive at the most valuable and achievable
• Plan and execute retrieval of data from source systems at our brands
• Create algorithms that e.g. check whether the right approvals were performed, that collateral is valid, or that there aren't money laundering risks
• Secure that algorithms are documented and written in a modular way to be re-used
• Create dashboards that show complex things in the clearest possible way and conform to Traton Financial Services color schemes etc.
• Participate in audits of business processes and practices to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies
• If ability exists: conduct audits of IT general controls or specific IT topics such as access management or IT security
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in IT or similar
• Proficient in programming (e.g. C++, Java, Python) and SQL
• Experience in data analytics projects incl. machine learning is considered a strong advantage
• PowerBI skills are considered an advantage.
• Some affinity for graphical design is considered an advantage in order to build effective dashboards
• A strong advantage would be the ability to develop into an IT auditor and conduct such audits, i.e. basic skills in IT general controls that can be further developed
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Fluency in other languages is a great advantage
• Ability to travel as necessary as our business covers most of the globe
• A positive mindset, with the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• Very structured approach as you will be constantly juggling many puzzle pieces
• Curiosity to learn more about our business to ensure the analysis we attempt add value and are realistic
• Ability to deal with uncertainty and complexity
