We are looking for a Wireless Network Systems Engineer for our innovative Communications Systems Engineering Team in our Stockholm office, the global headquarters of our Rail Control Solutions (RCS) division.
Your role:
Implement Radio Frequency (RF) communication system designs for projects, proposals, product support and strategic programs for future products with a focus on hardware design, system link budgets and regulatory compliance. Application of the communications system is relevant to Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) solutions for Bombardiers Main Line and Mass Transit solutions.
Your responsibilities:
• Radio Frequency Systems Design (Conceptual, detailed and final design with documentation).
• Interface with other Sub-Systems/Third Parties for design and implementation.
• Installation, Testing and Commissioning support remotely and on-site.
• Product development and planning for next generation Radio Frequency Systems.
• Support strategic sourcing for Radio Frequency Equipment Vendor evaluation.
• Strong experience of design, test and commissioning of Radio Frequency Communication Systems with involvement in the complete design lifecycle.
• Good knowledge of compliance to emissions regulations and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards.
• Good working knowledge of RF design concepts such as RF link budgets, free-space propagation relevant to mobile applications, and RF component selection (cables, connectors, directional couplers, circulators, filters, etc).
• Knowledge of general communications theory concepts such as modulation, noise, delay spread, latency, processing gain, divisional multiple access methods, and bit error rates.
• Demonstrated experience with test tools such as spectrum analyzers, cable analyzers and distance-to-fault/return loss measurements.
• Experience with Antennas related to Antenna selection and placement based on application requirements.
• Experience in general electrical hardware design, such as creating assembly drawings and bill-of-materials (BOMs).
• Conceptual Knowledge of 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ad and GSM-R technologies is a must; advanced knowledge about these is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Candidates must be fluent in English and additional knowledge of Swedish will be an advantage.
