We install and operate meteorological masts (currently up to 140m), assess the energy production of wind farms under development, and analyze the performance of operational wind farms. A key effort of the company is to develop and apply the new measuring and modeling systems of tomorrow. Kjeller Vindteknikk actively participates in national and international research and development projects strengthening our competence and broadening our network within the international wind power society. In addition to wind energy we are also involved in several projects related to climatic effects on power lines, airports, telecommunication towers and urban planning. We are currently 24 employees with an annual turnover of about 5 million Euro. Our main office is located at Kjeller, close to Oslo, with branch offices in Stavanger, and in Stockholm, Sweden.
We have vacant a position for a skilled candidate in the area of:
Wind analysis and wind energy modeling
A successful applicant will preferably have a background in physics, meteorology or engineering with a master or doctor degree. You will preferably have experience within wind analysis and wind energy production assessment, and good analytical skills.
We offer challenging tasks within model development and applications, integrated wind and wind energy analysi,s and development of analysis techniques for advanced wind monitoring equipment. KVT uses supercomputing technology and different program platforms in this work. Script programming, MATLAB integrated into Microsoft or Linux, and GIS-programs are among the most important tools.
Fields of work
Wind data analysis.
Production analysis of operating wind farms.
Meso- and micro-scale wind simulations.
Programming (Matlab, HTML, Fortran ol).
Advanced wind measurements (SODAR/LIDAR).
Qualifications
A master or doctor degree within the fields of meteorology, physics, fluid mechanics, applied mathematics or statistics, measuring techniques or energy engineering.
Good analytical skills.
Good programming skills.
Passion for environmental issues and renewable energy.
Experience from the wind energy market.
