Nordex is constantly pushing the boundaries with new technology in the wind industry and has an established Swedish company (Nordex Sverige AB) since a decade.
As Wind and Site Engineer you will work with of all aspects concerning wind assessments, production evaluation, layout optimization and site suitability for wind projects developed by Nordex and its customers and partners, as well as projects being bid by Nordex sales managers.
Job description
• Evaluate wind measurement campaigns (type of equipment, localization, subcontractors etc.) in order to evaluate wind resource and reduce uncertainty on analysis at optimized costs
• Analyze wind and meteorological data
• Conduct wind flow modelling studies with appropriate software (Wasp, WindPro etc.)
• Calculate wind energy projects with WindPro for assessment of site specific parameters
• Implementation of the Nordex standards into the wind flow simulations
• Produce long term wind and net production reports and statistical uncertainty analysis (P50, P90, P99 etc.)
• Support the project developers in the definition of optimal turbine layouts
• Perform site suitability reports in accordance with the standards set by Nordex in order to define the class of wind sites and determine the most adequate turbine model
Job requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Atmospheric Science preferred OR
• Master's degree in other technical field
• Knowledge of WasP, WindPro is a must
• CFD wind modelling would be a plus
• MATLAB Visual Basic programming SQL and/or Access database development experience
• Detail orientated with ability to comprehend a global problem to answer it with appropriate methods and summarize it in clear results
• Good knowledge of both written and spoken English
• Knowledge of German language is an advantage
• Ready to work in a dynamic and fast developing atmosphere
• Willing to travel on a regular basis
• Must be eligible to work in Sweden
You will report directly to the Sales Manager of the company as disciplinary superior.
