hela Sverige Vehicle Engineering is a function within Group Trucks Technology, responsible for developing complete trucks for the Truck brands within the Volvo Group.
Vehicle Development is a department within Vehicle Engineering based on the existing Vehicle Architect function with the responsibility to cover:
• Platform management
• Complete technical product ownership over time
• Complete technical project deliveries for all vehicles
We are looking for two Weight- and Dimension Architects within the Vehicle Data Expert group at Vehicle Development Gothenburg. We are a small team of experts, responsible for weight and dimensions of the complete vehicle. As an architect you work in an organization of leaders and vehicle specialists, setting the roadmap for the development our future vehicle ranges.
Each kilogram of truck weight is a lost kilogram in load capacity and load capacity is the main purpose for our trucks and for the end customer; it represents the income of their business. The weight architect optimizes and defines the weight and weight distribution for our range Heavy Duty Range. You will be the spider in the weight web, transforming input from Product Planning, Feature specialists, Competitors and Suppliers, into the weight- and load capacity road map.
The vehicle weight distribution is directly impacting the vehicle main dimensions and this is also an important part of this role. To be agile to future legislations and technology development, the vehicle?s main dimensions must be managed; you need to understand truck usage and have a strong business focus. You will work closely to other Architect functions, setting the prerequisites for the development of our new vehicles.
You will be responsible to deliver weight and dimension data to our customers and authorities. In this position you will have the opportunity to develop tools and processes and drive needed change initiatives according to your own vision.
Required Competencies and Experience

Minimum Education Required
• Master?s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
