Klarna has since the start had a very strong focus on building a world class development unit, we have come a long way but still need more people to strengthen our department! The department currently consists of over 40 reputable developers and technicians and we are now looking for the best and most passionate programmers. Klarna's passion and strive to be in the technological forefront permeates in everything we do: reliable systems, user-friendly Web interface and financial services.
Junior and Senior front-end fantasts to Klarna!
Klarna is growing, and we are now looking for new colleagues who can help us to develop the framework in which Klarna's new interface will be built. Take the chance to join us from the beginning in our work to create fantastic interaction design in a creative environment!
We value someone who is detail oriented, has experience in varying environments, and has a passion for interface design. The challenge will be for you to, along with our team of architects, be responsible for the development of the communication channel that will be the link between Klarna and the environment outside the company itself.
You will be working closely together with the rest of the development department in a fast pace-environment characterized by ambition and entrepreneurship. We set our goals high, and our experience has taught us to entertain a strong belief in each and everyone?s individual performance. This is also why we have chosen to create an open, stimulating and free development environment that offers the ones who have the desire and ambition to grow the tools they need to succeed.
We are looking for two types of profiles for this position; one junior, and one senior. It's not your level of experience that is important, it is your knowledge of, view on, or idea about how we can build an accessible interface that counts. The specification we have regarding the technical demands are as follows:
Junior technical profile
• Your skills in HTML, JavaScript and CSS are no less then awesome
• You are passionate about user-centred approach
• You have an eye for clean, beautiful and simple graphical interfaces
• You have some experience in technologies such as Ajax, JSON and REST
• You have a university degree, preferably in computer science, computer engineering or similar
• You have a portfolio to show off
It is an advantage if
• You are passionate about and talented in front-end programming and also have understanding for backend programming
• You have experience of developing in pure Agile development environment (Kanban, Scrum, XP. etc.)
• You follow the development of HTML5
• You realize that Google is your friend
• You have started and / or have ready-made ideas, pages, prototypes or concepts that you are happy to show
Senior technical profile
• Your skills in programming in ECMAScript (preferably experience in functional programming or programming in Ruby or Python) are very good
• Your knowledge about REST are very good
• You are passionate about writing high quality code
• You have experience from some of the following techniques: json, Ajax, Comet, jQuery, Dojo, YUI or GWT
• You want to work with the latest techniques in web interface as HTML5 and CSS3
• You have an understanding for safety issues such as authentication, XSS, etc?
• You have experience in developing for all browsers and operating systems
• You have proven experience of developing in pure Agile development environment (Kanban, Scrum, XP. etc.)
• You have a university degree, preferably in computer science, computer engineering or similar
• You have a portfolio to show off
It is an advantage if
• You have understanding for Erlang
• You have taken active participation in open source projects
• You have experience of (mobile)apps
• You are passionate about web development and follows the latest trends
Personal profile for both junior and senior position
• You have a very good ability to discuss technical issues with other developers
• You have the ability to with ease influence others with your energy
• You are a doer who implements changes and are the one who sees to that things are getting done
• You thrive in environments with high speed
• You are very committed and eager to understand how the entire operation works in order to help and be to use wherever you can
• You have a strong sense of responsibility
• You thrive in a company who is young and forward
