We are searching for a Web Editor for our client, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) in Solna.
Duration
You will get an employment as a consultant with Manpower. The assignment is to start as soon as possible and last until the end of August with possible extensions up to the total length of 12 months. The role is for full-time.
Tasks
The interim shall be requested to perform various tasks including:
* Help monitor the coherence of the structure, methods and navigation of the content on the websites; help ensure that ECDC's website are updated regularly
* Assist web editors in migrating content from SharePoint 2010 to Drupal
* Contribute to the day-to-day editorial tasks in the Editorial team of ECDC;
* Contribute to daily content management of ECDC portal and social media channels; specifically by posting various contents on the website
* Write and edit short articles, features and news for the web and social media;
* Write content for web and social media, assist in providing guidance to authors in preparation of web content;
* Provide guidance to authors in preparation of web content;
* Monitor the coherence of the structure, the methods of navigation and the content of the websites;
* Ensure that the information on ECDC websites is regularly updated;
Formal requirements, Professional Experience and Skills
* University education and relevant experience
* Experience in writing and editing for the web;
* Excellent knowledge of English
* Understanding of content management systems;
* Capacity to coordinate processes and liaise with the web contributors.
Competences and experience
In addition to the profile specification, these specific competences and experience are required for the current assignment:
* Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written;
* Experience in using Microsoft Sharepoint (2007 or 2010) content management system; experience in creating contents for websites and maintaining content management systems;
* Experience in using Microsoft Office Share Point Services (MOSS) 2010 or Dupal;
* Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
Advantageous
* Experience of professional use of social media
* Knowledge of Dublin Core initiative and metadata
* Knowledge and experience in HTML and CSS;
* Understanding of the technical aspects of web publishing, including experinece of the use of web publishing software, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat software
Personal Characteristics
* High level of service orientation and customer service spirit;
* Very good organisational skills: a planned approach to tasks and ability to prioritise;
* Very good communication skills;
* Strong interpersonal and ability to work well in teams.
