Having achieved an initial product-market fit in the trade finance market, Mitigram is now focused on scaling by further investing in marketing and sales. We are looking for our first VP of Marketing to join us, hone our narrative about technology-enabled trade finance, and build our marketing growth engine to enable us to scale faster and more effectively.
To be successful in this role, you will be experienced in gaining key customer insights, developing a compelling narrative, and engaging prospective customers through content and account-led marketing strategies. Metrics-driven, you will be able to develop the marketing function as an investment vehicle to drive quantified growth.
Responsibilities
Hone/refine a compelling trade finance strategic narrative that can successfully engage global 2000 corporate trade finance teams, their partner banks, investors, and internal teams
Build the content & communications engine that engages target corporate customers and banks through a series of key assets and activities:
Directly source and influence new business through marketing channels supporting Mitigram to successfully triple revenues over the next 12-18 months
Support the introduction of new products to new and current customers
Build a small top-grade marketing team and supporting agencies
Experience
Track record in building a marketing function from the ground up enabling a fast-growing SaaS/B2B marketplace/network business to scale from ~$1m to ~$10m, ideally with experience of targeting global 2000 trade finance or treasury teams
Product-marketing knowhow - demonstrable experience of developing an effective story and messaging into a market
Managed account-led demand generation team
Marketing where the priority has been to build engagement with potential customers through content marketing - building a story and community
Data-led approach to marketing using technology to understand and guide engagement
Maintaining and optimizing company website/digital real estates to improve demand generation
Developing key metrics/dashboards using contemporary reporting tools
Personal attributes
Thinks creatively building narratives that engage with potential audiences emotionally and convinces them logically
Can be a partner to the CEO and wider leadership team to continue to develop and hone the narrative and marketing strategy
Strong collaborator at the leadership level while also being comfortable doing the day-to-day operational work required to scale the organization
Ability to prioritize and focus on the strategies that will move the needle
Is metrics orientated and understands how to position marketing effectively as an investment to the CEO
Thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment where priorities can change with little warning
