Chinsay provides a platform for the end-to-end management of contracts in the multi trillion dollar global commodities and freight markets. As pioneers in designing and building software for collaborative contract management, their product is used by some of the world's largest companies like Cargill, Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton. Chinsay is transforming the perception of what a contract is and how it can be used to drive value to all areas of an organization. They are front and centre in the movement to digitize trade documentation and facilitate digital supply chains.
Chinsay are now looking for the right person to help them lead Chinsay's excellent development team to the next level.
Role description
As the VP of Engineering at Chinsay, you will be responsible for continuous delivery and improvement of Chinsay's flagship SaaS product. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher features through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
In this role, you'll work closely with Product Development to coordinate new feature launches. Further to this, you'll facilitate scoping, coordinate and communicate timelines for the development of new products and generate and execute against the backlog. The right individual will need to be able to expand the European team into Singapore and manage the complexity of continuous deployment and delivery. You'll be expected to maintain a high performing team and have ideas how to build a culture of devops, excellence and continuous improvement.
Who we think you are
You have several years' experience in a leadership position in organizations that made very effective use of Scrum and/or other Agile practices. You have personally managed a team who performed software development, UI/UX design, documentation, quality assurance, and delivery - ideally for a SaaS/PaaS product leveraging DevOps best practices. You have a thorough understanding of modern software architecture, and ideally have been responsible for a team employing modern architectural practices such as PaaS, cloud, distributed systems, microservices. You can talk the talk because you have walked the walk. You have worked on software leveraging either Azure, which Chinsay uses, or AWS. You worked for several years as a senior developer. You have a Master's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or Software Engineering
