Occupational Hygenist/ Toxicologist
The department of Human, Systems & Structures performs applied research and development with focus on developing the interaction between the user and the system in order to create safe, environmental friendly, efficient and satisfying products and services. We have competence in the areas of:
human factors
intelligent vehicle technologies
mechanics and manufacturing
environment and chemistry
Vehicle solutions and transport analysis
We are involved in all stages of the technology development, from applied research to industrialization. The work is mainly carried out in projects together with Volvo Group companies and in national and international consortia in common research programs including academia, research institutes and different companies. We are involved in all stages of the technology development, from applied research to industrialization.
Within Volvo Technology, the group Environment & Chemistry performs applied research and development with the primary goal of ensuring high environmental standards and resource efficiency within the Volvo Group. We also assist the group on a more daily basis with expert competences in selected areas such as chemical risk assessments. To do this we have a multidisciplinary staff of employees skilled in engineering and natural sciences.
We are now looking for a person who can strengthen our competence within occupational hygiene and toxicology.
Core Responsibilities:
Product safety documentation, such as safety data sheets and internal safety information both on a national and international basis. As support for our activities, we have access to the most advanced databases and expert systems
Work with and propose changes of Volvo's Black and Grey Chemical Substance Substitution Lists from new legislation and research perspective
Risk assessment of chemical products
Tracking and implementation of legislation in the work-environment and environmental area
Required Competencies:
Academic degree in chemistry and/or toxicology and with interest in legislation and chemical product issues
Long experience from occupational hygiene/ toxicological work, as well as knowledge in work environment regulations
For you to be successful in this position, we think that you need a creative and positive attitude as well as good co-operation and networking skills
It is important that you are thorough and can speak and write Swedish and English
Minimum Years of Experience Required:
5 to 10 years of relevant experience
Minimum Education Required:
Master or PhD
