Background and organization
Volvo GTO in Köping is looking for their next production engineer. To be able to achieve our goal of becoming the best transmission factory in the world, we need world class employees. In the area of production engineering towards Surface Treatment. We are now looking for our next team member who is eager to join the Volvo Group continuous journey.

Our area of responsibility is to prepare and industrialize new components and processes, refine existing components, maintain and if needed extend the installed capacity. The area is also responsible for technical support and continuous improvements that can be divided into reactive and proactive problem solving. An extensive part of your work will be in project form, were you can be assigned different roles within the project. We look forward in meeting our next talented production engineer.

Main areas of responsibility
As a production engineer within the Volvo Group, it is important that you have an ambition to always develop yourself. You will have good opportunities to grow within the technology area and to become an expert that cooperates with universities and continuously develop new methods, with the purpose to spread the information within the Volvo Group. Since our organization supports the entire plant development projects, you will be given opportunities to grow within project management.

A suitable candidate for the role as production engineer has a structure way of working and always puts the customer in focus. The perfect candidate also has an ability to cooperate and lead projects. We put high value in personal characteristics such as analytical abilities, has high ambitions and always strives to deliver according to time plan.

A summary of your everyday work:

• Technical assignments within production?Secure, optimize and update production times

• Assignments within workplace design, layout changes, value stream mapping according to LEAN-principles
• Process optimization with internal specialists or external suppliers

• Project based work with product- or industrialization projects including procurement of production equipment
• Lead projects within continues improvement and projects for new technology
• Global monitoring in technological development (Fairs, seminars, training)

Personal profile and qualifications
For this position, we see that you have the following qualifications and skills:

• Academic background within the area of technology engineering and a strong technical interest
• Experience of industrial work (even light experiences is valuable)
• Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) in both Swedish and English
• Good leadership abilities
