As Design Tool Leader you will be responsible for driving the current and future PLM service within Volvo CE. It means that you will be responsible for creating a world class PLM service to our customers in the Technology design environment. The service includes CAD, CAE and PDM tools to address issues and to improve design efficiency. You will achieve this by creating plans and by initiating projects and activities to fulfil the plan within given strategies. In projects you will be responsible for setting customer requirements and for managing business acceptance tests and business roll out activities. All work will be done in a diverse team in the global Volvo CE organisation. This requires a flexible mind-set, a clear customer focus combined with a structured way of working and leadership capabilities. You are a social person who can make things happen by your own and you are not afraid of taking lead when something needs to be done.
Core Responsibilities:
Be a Leader in the PLM offering
Implement Strategies and define product plans for PLM
Collect and conceptualize best practice operating standards
Create and execute product information, training and launch plans and measure their effectiveness
Ensure that necessary process descriptions and supporting tools are available for the engineers
Manage the operation of the PLM systems and continuously work to improve the operation process and interfaces
Collect competitor (or benchmark with similar companies within the group) information and create competitor analyses
Minimum Education Required:
At least 5+ years experience working in Product Development
Excellent skills in CATIA V5
Practical knowledge of PLM tools, CAD/PDM/CAE
Fluent in English, both spoken and written
Good organizational and leadership skills with a holistic view
Customer focused and drive to improve
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to discuss issues with customers in a pedagogical way
Self-motivated and able to manage time and prioritize work
B.Sc./M.Sc. or equivalent education and experience
