The Commodity Buyer will lead sub-commoditie(s) for Region Europe (subjects to be decided depending on skills and current organisation).
Such a job requires (amongst others) the ability to lead people indirectly, create teams consisting of buyers / SD / engineers, drives the activities with management support, manage suppliers at European level.
The major goals will be in line with VCE targets (such as 12,5% cost reduction ? reduction of number of suppliers ? increase common suppliers - Quality targets (QPM/PPM).)
You will be supplier host for ?big? suppliers and you will be part of commodity workshops (either for Region Europe or Global)
You will also be supporting the other sub-commodity leaders for Europe and Global.
Responsibilities:
Supporting role within PPD
Define the sourcing strategy together with the commodity team
Implement sourcing strategy for its sub-commodities with support of the Plant Buyer
Manage supply base (identification, evaluation, approval and development of strategic supplier)
Responsible for supply management strategy (4 Box)
Drive QDC targets at sub commodity level and track implementation (TCO, Quality, Timing) with support of plant buyer, project buyer & SD
Negotiate framework agreements (FWA), QDC contracts,
Support Project Buyer on project agreements (LOI and development contract)
Supports sites according to escalation processes
Validate sourcing proposals made by project teams at gate review (compliance with commodity sourcing strategy)
Support CST to recover warranty cost from suppliers
Work in accordance with the Volvo CE processes, the Volvo Way, and the Volvo values and behaviours
Commercial responsible within OTD
Required Compententies:
Proven Experience in ?sheet metal? area is preferable
Deep understanding of sourcing strategy process and a holistic view on its sub-commodity issues
Proven experience in sourcing for an international group
A clear understanding and vision of current supply base evolution and supplier market trends
Has the required technical skills to understand and support the combined P&SM and R&D strategy
Has proven capabilities in negotiation and communication
Has the ability to manage on his own a whole sub-commodity
Creative attitude and energetic. Achievement driven
