The group Vehicle Mode Management (VMM) is part of the design section Electrical System Architecture within Electrical, Electronics & Electrical Propulsion (EEEP) at Volvo Car group. The group is responsible to define pre-requisites for function-, sub-system- and node/component owners as base for their engineering work. We develop and distribute design requirements to all concerned parties cross the development organization. The responsibilities are to define and realize a technical concept with associated mechanisms to adapt the car for specific life cycle stages, to control power- and energy consumption, in order to avoid drained batteries and to reduce usage of electrical energy. We also define and realize functional solutions, activation criteria's and sequences for start-up and shut-down of conventional and hybrid driveline solutions.

As a SW Modeler VMM you will be responsible, based on defined requirements, to design the centralised control mechanisms for the Vehicle Mode Management concept, by modelling the system solution in Simulink. This model is then compiled into software and integrated in an AUTOSAR environment in the Central Electric Module node responsible to control the mode management mechanisms cross the electrical system.

Main responsibilities

• Develop new technical solutions in Simulink securing defined input requirements for new or changed functionality
• Maintain and elaborate on existing models based on feedback
• Review and test/verify the models according to internal processes
• Support requirement owners in reviewing system behaviour
• Participate in software tests/verifications for concerned solutions
• Take corrective actions if quality issues are raised affecting fulfilment of our requirements

Required qualifications

• B.Sc. in electrical engineering or similar competence obtained by many years of practical experience
• Several years of experience from software development
• Several years of experience in Simulink modelling
• Fluent in English
• Knowledge of Autosar is meritorious
• Good knowledge in requirement management processes is meritorious
• Experience from automotive engineering is qualifying
