a Group Manager to lead the Visualization team supporting our global Volvo Group Design team. With this position we will constantly increase innovation and efficiency through cooperation between our design studios located in Gothenburg, Greensboro and Lyon.
As the manager of this team, you are a valuable member in the local VGD management team and part of developing and forming the Design department for the future.
How you will make an impact
Within the expansive area of visualization with many new technologies available, you will have a key role sharing knowledge to build world class solutions within Volvo Group Design.
The main task of this role is to lead and mentor our experts in Visualization Design. We are in a highly expansive time and attracting and developing talent will be your responsibility along with defining the visualization tools strategies. VR/XR technology will be a key collaboration tool to perform design reviews, clinics, and faster and dynamic digital solutions to support Design direction and decisions. You will work with competence development of the team and process improvement, locally but also across our development sites.
Other responsibilities within the role are:
Ensuring a strong capability to deliver visualization support throughout the design process
Leading with a positive attitude and having a passion for developing people as well as Design Strategies
Delivering project activities on time and according to budget
Driving Continuous Improvement activities with the objective to always enhance our way of working
Define HW/SW road map for investments in visualization area based on VGD needs
Coordinating cross-functionally to define and align ways of working and equipment
Responsible for budgeting, planning, communication and coordination of tasks/priorities within the team
You will report directly to the Volvo Group Design Site Director.

Other requirements for the role are:
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, SW development, Computer graphics design or equivalent, Master's degree is preferred
Minimum 5 years of design industry experience from Automotive, Product visualization, Gaming or other relevant industries
Acquainted with computer graphic design tool chain, eg 3D Studio Max, Unreal, Blender
Good understanding of the E2E Design Process
Documented leader experience with strong understanding of VR/XR
Excellent skills in communication and building networks

The role is based in Gothenburg, Sweden at Volvo Group Design in Lundby, currently consisting of about 150 talented people and planning to reach 200 beginning of 2023.
