Visualisation Engineer - Perceived Quality Material & Illumination

At RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo. Together with other engineers around the world, you and your team will create innovative human-centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people. As VISUALISATION ENGINEER within the group Perceived Quality Material & Illumination you will take on a new exciting position. This position enrols responsibility to create and develop realistic appearances of materials and surfaces in virtual visualisation models. Your work will focus on investigating and developing procedures of working in order to enhance our technology use and our visualisation models. You will have the opportunity to develop a new field of application for virtual visualisation both at Volvo Car Corporation as well as the general market.

Perceived Quality Material & Illumination is responsible for part of the attribute area Perceived Quality which includes technical requirements, analysis, verification, method development and project management. Our daily work includes transforming ideas into solutions in order to meet the high standards of future luxury vehicles.

Job profile:

• Create and develop realistic appearances of the materials and surfaces of virtual visualisation models
• Participate in method development and fields of application
• Development of technical solutions for virtual visualisation
• Attribute development work related to the appearance of surface materials and interior lighting

Your profile:

• Technical university degree involving digital visualisation
• Great feeling for and interest in interior materials, colour and shape
• Attention to details
• High interest in technology
• Self starting, structured and thorough
• Strong in communication
• Very high analytical skills and strong in documentation
• Excellent English skills (spoken and written)
• University studies on material science/engineering is meritorious
• Experience from product development, styling/design visualisation and CAD analysis (preferably Catia) within the automotive industry is meritorious
• Knowledge in material properties of plastics and other surface materials such as foils, textiles and leather is meritorious
