Are you, as an System Design Analyst, interested in becoming a part of an all-new, state-of-the-art simulation center for HVDC Grids? Would you like to make future visions of large-scale interconnection of remote renewable power and large offshore wind farm a reality? The simulation center we are building - right now - in Västerås and Ludvika will create and develop the future super grid from existing technology. As a part of our brand new unit, you will help your fellow experts and specialists push the boundaries of frontline technology with one of the world's leading engineering companies. The multi-skilled team you work within will have access to top-of-the-line simulation and test equipment to find solutions that will meet, and perhaps exceed, our customers? future requirements.
As our new System Design Analyst you will work with the design and control of HVDC systems as part of electrical power systems. Given your competence, drive and personal qualifications, we believe that this is the first step in your successful future career.

The requirements: To apply you need a higher education, such as Master of Engineering or a Ph.D. focusing Power System Engineering and Control. Naturally, you are familiar with working in complex systems ? and you have equally good knowledge of tools such as PSCAD, Matlab, PSS/E, Simpow or powerfactory. It is preferred if also you have good knowledge within VSC, automatic control engineering, power systems and modelling. This position further demands proficiency in English, written and spoken alike. It is qualifying of you have experience from power systems analysis and wind power. You have a great team spirit and a strong inner drive. You are also analytical and structured. Cooperation is a efficient means to reach common goals, and you enjoy collaborating with others and shoulder responsibility for your tasks.
ABB HVDC is a part of the division ABB Power Systems offering systems, plants and services for transmission and distribution of electrical power, as well as automation and streamlining within power. HVDC has been on the market for more than 50 years and is used to transmit electric power over long distances by overhead transmission lines or submarine cables with very small power losses. HVDC is also used to connect sea based wind power and power supply to platforms, and to connect power systems in cases where traditional AC-connections cannot be used.
