Group BF72851, "DC Braking & Suspension Control Systems" within "Chassis and Vehicle Dynamics Engineering", has a global responsibility within Volvo GTT for HIL (Hardware In the Loop) simulator verification of Brake, Steer and Suspension control system functions.
Volvo GTT has developed and demonstrated autonomous trucks used in an underground mine, have a look at this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwhyoUyJNoY In order to take the next steps in the development of autonomous trucks we need to build up our virtual test and verification resources for redundant vehicle dynamics control systems. This include not only HIL simulators but also MIL (Model In the Loop) and SIL (Software In the Loop) simulation environments. The work is done in an agile setup in which test & verification resources are included in the agile teams. The vehicle dynamics control for autonomous trucks is a safety critical function so our development work will be made in accordance to ISO-26262.
The work includes development of MIL, SIL & HIL simulation test environments, writing test specifications, perform and analyze simulation tests, present and report verification results. The work is performed in close co-operation in a multi-cultural environment with both internal and external contacts such as our different development sites around the world and suppliers.
We are now looking for 4 new colleagues within our simulation team who want to work with virtual test and verification of vehicle dynamics control of autonomous trucks towards our vision: To have a verification process for software and parameter releases for chassis control systems based on automated simulation tests for our complete product range.
Position descriptions:
1.MIL & SIL simulation environment development engineer for autonomous trucks
2.MIL & SIL simulation test engineer for autonomous trucks
3.HIL simulator development engineer for redundant brake control systems
4.HIL simulator development engineer for redundant steering control systems
