hela Sverige We are looking for an experienced software developer to join the video team in Core Technologies Media in Lund. You will work in the forefront when it comes to end-to-end video technology solutions together with a great team.
Your future team
You will join the Core Technologies Media team, that is responsible for the technology development for both video and audio. We are a rather small, innovative, and diverse team where we value a curious way of working, sharing knowledge and openness.
As your manager, I will listen to your personal goals to put your professional experiences to best use, allowing both your knowledge and motivation to drive us forward.
Technology Development is the first stage of Axis' Product Development Cycle and aims at understanding and influencing what users within the network video market want and need in the future and at early providing a corresponding competence and technology basis that enable Axis to efficiently develop innovative and highly competitive products and features.
Your role as a video technology engineer
Video compression and video encoding is essential when you are in the business of delivering (streaming) real-time video and this is also true for Axis. In your role as video technology engineer you will take part of activities and projects with the goal of developing our next generation video platform. The work you do will impact most of Axis products and are of great value for our end-customers.
Among other things, you will handle complex challenges like introducing new codec standards into our platforms, developing new compression features/algorithms and address BER/congestion problems transmitting video over the network from camera to consumer.
As a core technology team, we have a responsibility to introduce and develop new and innovative video features. This is done by building knowledge within the area, learning about our customers and spending time exploring new possibilities.
The typical employee in our team works in roles such as software engineer, technical lead or technical expert.
Who are you?
To be able to take this position, we expect you to have a strong technical interest and knowledge within embedded software development. You should be able to work alone and together with others as most of our development are done together with other teams.
We expect you to have a good analytical ability to understand complex issues and processes. You also have good pedagogical abilities, i.e., you are good at explaining difficult thing in a simple way.
As a person, you are curious and eager to learn, you are positive and have an open mindset for maybe new ways to do things.
Knowledge and experiences, we expect that you have
* Good knowledge within C/C++ and python programming
* Experience of Embedded systems and Linux development environments
* Knowledge about version handling tools like Git or corresponding
* Experience of working in projects and knowledge about agile development methods.
* Relevant academic background such as master's degree in computer science, physics, electrical engineering.
An extra plus if you have experience and knowledge within the video domain, i.e., codecs standards like H.264, HEVC, or MJPEG, or video streaming protocols/frameworks and networks.
