Gothenburg International School (GIS) is seeking an experienced, proactive, and collaborative Vice Principal (Biträdande rektor) to join our leadership team in Mölndal. Working alongside the Principal, you will play a pivotal role in operational management, academic leadership, student welfare, and staff support. This role is ideal for an educator with administrative ambition who thrives in an international setting and is passionate about maintaining small-class academic excellence using the Cambridge Curriculum.
Dina arbetsuppgifter (Your Responsibilities):
Operational Leadership: Assist the Principal in managing daily school operations, timetables, substitute planning, and logistics.
Curriculum & Teaching Support: Support teaching staff in planning and delivering the Cambridge Curriculum, conducting classroom observations, and mentoring teachers.
Student Welfare & Elevhälsa: Lead or actively participate in the Student Health Team (Elevhälsoteam), overseeing student support plans, discipline, and inclusion strategies.
Regulatory Compliance: Assist in maintaining compliance with Swedish educational standards (Skollagen) and internal quality assurance processes.
Parent & Community Communication: Serve as a key point of contact for parents, guardians, and external partners to maintain strong home-school partnerships.
Kvalifikationer (Qualifications & Requirements):
Education & Credentials:
Degree in Education with a valid Swedish Teacher Qualification (Lärarlegitimation) or equivalent international teaching qualification.
Participation in or completion of the Swedish National School Leadership Programme (Rektorsprogrammet) is a strong advantage.
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience, preferably with prior leadership responsibilities (e.g., Subject Lead, Key Stage Coordinator, or Assistant Head).
Curriculum Knowledge: Familiarity with the Cambridge International Curriculum, British Key Stages, or primary/lower-secondary international education.
Language Skills: Professional fluency in English (daily school language) and strong working proficiency in Swedish (for communication with Swedish authorities and parents).
Background Check: A valid extract from the Swedish criminal record registry (Belastningsregister för skola/förskola) is mandatory.
