In an environment of change, with exiting new technologies and rapidly changing customer requirements, Volvo Group Design is looking for a dynamic and insightful Vice President, to progressively lead the global operations in design and support success of the Volvo Group business. The Vice President is a key role in our capability to innovate and prioritize design solutions for the future competitiveness of Volvo Group products and services, representing individually distinct brands.
The Vice President is heading a global organization of diverse roles and professions in the Gothenburg, Lyon and Greensboro design studios. The organization is dedicated to securing the business relevance of distinct design strategies for individual brands where the Volvo brand is operated through multiple business areas. The role includes the ultimate responsibility for budget, resource planning and project deliverables on target.
The responsibility comprises to support the business with aesthetic and strategic leadership, to support the product development with professional and accurate design deliveries, and to support the individual brands with outstanding design quality encompassing user-friendly and sustainable solutions - physical and digital. The responsibility stretches across numerous digital and physical customer touch points.
The Vice President is leading the global Volvo Group Design management team, with the directors of brands and business areas. The Vice President is expected to take an active part in the global projects and strategies, in close collaboration with the brands and business areas and support the business priorities of the Volvo Group.

The Vice President Volvo Group Design will report to the Senior Vice President of Complete Vehicle in GTT. The VP will also be part of the Complete Vehicle global management team and collaborate closely with stakeholders cross-functionally within the group.
Requirements
Master or Bachelor degree from relevant field of design, e.g. industrial design, product design, interaction design, service design, graphic design
Minimum 15 years of work experience from working with participatory industrial design and digital user experience (UX) design process
Minimum 8 years leadership experience; including experience from leading leaders / leading function
Automotive, machinery or business to business industry experience
Service design experience and experience from a multi brand context are merits
Fluent in English

Creative, motivating and visionary leadership
High interest in design and technology trends
Communication skills
Proven ability to work in a cross-functional multibrand environment
In this position you will report to the Senior Vice President Complete Vehicle and be placed in Gothenburg, Sweden. The position will require travelling to other sites on a rather frequent basis.
