Retirement inevitably caught up with our Vice President Vara Plant and we are now initiating our search for the next one to take the rudder and steer us into the future. To take on and succeed in the role as Vice President for Volvo Penta's biggest plant in Vara, you are a curious and courageous person with great inclusive leadership, coaching and team building skills. Vara plant is presumably one of the best and most efficient marine engine plants in the world and our adamant work with continuous improvements aims to keep it that way. The function of Global Operations & Quality is proud to be producing and distributing top quality engines to most corners of the world, upholding the Volvo Penta brand and reputation. The Vara plant consists of 220 highly skilled employees who all contribute in this process.

Key responsibilities as Vice President Vara Plant entails:
Lead, coach and develop your direct reports.
Be responsible for the continuous improvement within the organisation.
Develop goals, policies and strategies in order to meet the profitability, efficiency, quality and environmental goals.
Be responsible to fulfil the environmental and safety demands, laws and regulations.
Manage, steer and follow up the manufacturing process to meet the delivery quality and performance demands.
Member and active contributor to the Global Operations & Quality mgmt. team.

Key competencies and qualifications:

You preferably have knowledge related to plant manufacturing assembly processes and also have experiences with lean manufacturing. Above all you are an effective business leader and an active team worker who is inclusive and inspiring to your managers and all of your employees. You understand the dynamics of organizational culture and possess the ability to strengthen culture through focus on cooperation and development in order to create a great future workplace.

You hold a University degree within an area of relevance for this position.

You are an excellent communicator and master the English as well as the Swedish language proficiently, both in speaking and writing.
