As Vice President R&D you report directly to the Division President and you are a member of the Divisional Management Team. Your responsibility is to manage, coordinate and develop the global R&D organization and resources. You should follow up on the project execution and make sure the development activities are well coordinated with the projects run by the rig- divisions.
The mission is to execute and update the 3 year product line strategy
and to execute the simulation road map. A strong focus on building
up focused test labs in Sweden and India will be necessary. This
responsibility will also require good co-operation with both the GMs
in our Product Companies and Product Line Managers within our
Marketing organization. Other tasks will be to leverage engineering
capacity by using CMTEC and to make sure our product portfolio is
managed in a good way.
The major challenges for the R&D team will be:
• To shorten our time to market.
• To come up with the new game changing concepts.
• To standardize processes.
Educational and experience requirements:
Suitable background for the position is a technical university degree
preferably in Mechanical Engineering, combined with some year's
qualified experience from Research and Development in an
international operation. Fluency in English is required.
Personal skills:
Since this is a strategic position, a structured approach and an ability to see the whole picture is necessary. You have a strong performance orientation with focus on execution as well as a good sense of our business needs. Since you will manage a global team good communication skills and an ability to empower people in a multicultural environment will be crucial.
