THIS IS US
Indirect Products and Services (IPS) Purchasing is a global organization within GTP and covering the whole Volvo Group needs (all BAs/BUs). The yearly purchased spend is approx. 43 BSEK. The team is responsible for Investments, IT, Professional Services & Travels, Products & Operational Services.
IPS Europe being the Strategic steering line for all IPS Purchasing activities within GTP globally, we organize a strong collaboration within IPS teams spread across different sites/regions and we are the operational line responsible for IPS in the European business all along the Purchasing process. The team is responsible to drive end-to-end Purchasing activities whilst securing QDCF-TSR (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability and Risk Management) targets.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
As Vice President IT (Information Technology) purchasing you drive and manage the performance of your department from QDCF-TSR standpoint. You lead a team of Purchasing Managers in your area of scope (Infrastructure & Equipment; Business Support and Commercial Solutions; Development, Manufacturing & Logistics Solutions; Emerging IT & Outsourced Solutions), manage suppliers' relationship, cross-functional collaboration, contribute to suppliers' negotiation & be responsible to drive global segment strategies and common ways of working. You also promote and ensure a strong collaboration between Buyers and Managers within IT Purchasing globally thereby capitalizing on regional inputs towards segment strategies, negotiation tactics, global leverages and other possible opportunities. The overall team size is approx. 30 people.
You will be responsible for the budget and operating expenses and give input to the department purchasing business plan. You will secure financial/cost targets and KPIs fulfillment (approx. annual spend of 5 BSEK) and, when needed, you will sign off Purchasing Agreements in accordance with authorization directives.
You will be a member of the IPS Management team and actively contribute to the development of the department. You will report to the Senior Vice President IPS Purchasing.
Other main activities:
Manage the overall suppliers' relationship and their involvement in project activities
Drive and implement the segment strategies and manage suppliers' selection/partnership and negotiations
Manage cross-functional interactions with stakeholders (Group IT, GTT, GTO, VTC, RT, VCE, VFS, etc.), appoint supplier hosts within your area and ensure that the Sourcing Cases (with all the available data) are ready for Sourcing Committee and/or Sourcing Board
Strongly drive and foster Sustainability initiatives in your area of responsibility (Climate, Resources and People)
Be a strong agent in the Transformational journey of the Volvo Group, GTP and IPS (e.g. digitalization of Purchasing activities, new business models with suppliers, partnerships, new technologies)

Main qualifications:
University degree in Engineering/technology and/or Business Administration
Recognized business acumen
A strong understanding of business challenges in a global environment and preferably a good understanding of the Volvo Group Business
Experience in Purchasing
Knowledge in current and future business trends, technology and markets
Knowledge/passion for IT is considered as an asset
You will be located in Gothenburg, Sweden.
