Vice President for Globalization of VCC and Sourcing

At PURCHASING you are part of a global team with the mission to develop and maintain a world-class supplier base. Ensuring the supply of materials and services - to the right cost, quality and technology - is essential for the success of Volvo Cars. Ultimately, it's all about cooperating with people inside and outside the company to create a superior experience for the people who buy and drive a Volvo.

As VICE PRESIDENT FOR GLOBALIZATION OF VCC AND SOURCING, which is a new position, you will take a cross-functional approach and establish a Global Sourcing strategy for VCC. This means setting up International offices and global supplier network and ensure efficient localization and reverse globalization across Direct Material and Indirect Material.

Job profile:

Global sourcing footprint:

• Establish Global Sourcing strategy
• Set up international offices in key markets such as; Brazil, US/Mexico, India, Russia
• Establish through the international offices a global supplier network, identify and develop new low cost suppliers
• Prepare supplier network for future local content supplies
• Objective: Mitigate currency exposure: Adjust sourcing share to sales share in the market (mainly US$)

Off shoring:
• Establish effective footprint of middle and back office
• Middle Office Analysis centers
• Back Office (e.g. contract management) requisition & Fulfillment, Contract Administration, Supplier e-Enablement, Master Data Maintenance, Routine Reporting

China - Localization and Reverse Globalization:
• Ensure efficient localization and reverse globalization across Direct Material and Indirect Material clusters
• Develop key Sourcing strategy to push local content of vehicles and drive share of China sourcing
• Achieve cost down targets
• Push China Export
• Special focus on SPA localization
• Develop key suppliers
• Set up, manage the resources across the live organization to achieve targets at short term

Your profile:

• Technical or Business University degree or equal
• Experience from automotive business
• Fluent in English
• Extensive experience from similar tasks
