Powertrain Purchasing is a global organization within GTP representing a yearly purchased spend of 39 BSEK, the team is responsible for Base Engine, Casting & Forging, Combustion, Electric Drivelines, Vendor, Axles & Transmissions.
Powertrain Europe, being the strategic steering line for Powertrain purchasing activities within GTP, we organize a strong collaboration within Powertrain teams across different regions. We are also the operational line responsible for Powertrain Europe business all along the purchasing process (sourcing/projects/operations/revenue service parts). GTP Powertrain Europe team is responsible to drive end to end purchasing activities whilst securing QDCFTSR (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability and Risk Management) performance.

Mission
As Vice President Base Engine Purchasing, you drive and manage the performance of your department from a QDCFTSR stand point. You lead a team of Purchasing Managers in your area of scope. You manage supplier relationship, cross functional collaboration, supplier selection, negotiation & global purchasing strategies. You also promote a strong collaboration between buyers and managers within Base Engine Purchasing globally thereby capitalizing on regional inputs towards global strategies, negotiation tactics and other possible opportunities

Reporting To: Senior Vice President Powertrain Purchasing

Main Responsibilities
Be a member in Powertrain Purchasing Leadership team and in an active way contribute to the development of the department
To manage the overall supplier relationship, define and implement the global segment strategies
Secure all targets fulfillment
Drive department continuous improvement activities towards wanted position
Secure needed communication with cross functional teams
Manage purchasing QDCFTSR deliverables
Manage the development of staff
Secure and Manage resources within his/her area
Responsible for operating expenses
Work in accordance with the Volvo processes, the Code of Conduct and the Volvo Values
Sign off Purchasing Agreements in accordance with the authorization directives
You will also manage cross functional interactions with your internal stakeholders, and ensure all the relevant data is ready to be presented in Sourcing Governance

Competence & Experience
University degree in Engineering/technology and/or Business Administration
Strong Leadership skills
Proven business mindset
Knowledgeable in current and future business trends, technology and markets

Authorities
Represent his/her Purchasing area in cross-functional decision bodies
Validates sourcing cases to be presented to the sourcing decision body
