Volvo Group Telematics enables & accelerate customer-oriented off-board telematics service development & delivery.
Volvo Group Telematics supports the Volvo Group and external customers in the Automotive Car OEM segment, such as BMW and Volvo Cars through the WirelessCar brand.
Role Context and Mission
VGT has a growing supplier / partner base in several regions (Americas, EMEA and APAC) due to continuous business increase. VGT has now decided to create a specific role to better manage this globally.
The Supplier Manager works mainly in the Onetime and Runtime processes in close collaboration with VGT departments and Volvo IT purchasing. The mission of the Supplier Manager is to increase the value and minimize the spending within VGT globally by improving overall relationship, knowledge and management of suppliers.
The Supplier Manager will be part of the Global Service Delivery Management Team and will report to the Director Global Service Delivery.
Responsibilities and Powers
Key responsibilities:
Overall
• Collect requirements from the "internal customers" (Solution Managers / Projects Managers / Service Delivery Managers)and secure contracts KPIs accordingly
• Support the Service Area Manager (SAM) in establishing clear strategies and deliver run-time related requirements in the projects
• Drive negotiation together with VIT Purchasing to establish synergies and align our KPIs
• Secure that commercial agreements are well known and used within VGT globally
• Do the operational follow up on both quality and cost
• Support / provide feedbacks to the ?internal customers? on regular basis
• Report and take actions to secure supplier efficiency
• Deliver results / achieve targets within own area of responsibility
Financial responsibilities
• Responsible for supplier budget and cost / forecast in line with requirements
Personnel
• Manage functionally a global team
Education and / or Experience Recommended
The Supplier Manager needs to have the ability to work under demanding and changing conditions. As person, you are structured with a service-minded attitude and eager to build a strong technical environment and solutions usage knowledge to better interact with VGT suppliers. A successful applicant must also be able to work in a matrix organization with functional responsibilities as well as line / team responsibilities.
This position requires:
• Bachelor or Master degree and a broad IT background (Telematics background preferred)
• Proven leadership skills in senior positions including supplier / partner management
• Experience of running business with profit and loss responsibility
• Prior experience in a global organization preferred
• Strong interest in technical solution
• Have capacity to execute against set targets and a "can do" attitude
• Ability to establish and maintain good relations with our internal and external partners
• Organizational and execution skills
• Global and structured mindset
• Proven teamwork skills
• Fluent in English
